Bit of a mess.

"Shenanigans"...beautiful word. Shenanigans.

>This is why 11 can never be "my Doctor".

aymilial:

Fixed point or not, 10 would have found his companion’s baby. Even if he had to destroy the universe to do it.

Yeah, just like in The Waters of Mars when he defeated time and space to save Adelai—

WHOOPS! Breaking the established flow of time and space (especially in a fit of emotional impulsiveness) isn’t exactly Ten’s forté.

And switching off the Ten Idealisation Filter for a sec, it becomes apparent he’d probably have done no better than Eleven at the search. Consider the following:

* Eleven is the Doctor who locates a base and spends a month infiltrating it with soldiers in advance, in order to pull off a seamless takeover in under 4 minutes. Suffice to say he does his homework. (He also keeps an eye on the news e.g. Leadworth crop circle.)
* Ten is the Doctor who learns that the Master is about to return at some prison bacl in the 21st century, and lands there on his own the morning AFTER it fucking blows up! [Hello - TIME MACHINE? A quick check through the contemporary news - “THIS ONE PRISON FUCKING BLEW UP THE OTHER DAY!” - using the TARDIS would have alerted him to that shit well in advance!]

So yeah, I don’t follow shitting on Eleven for not finding Baby Mels.

(Unless your point is that Ten is such a buffoon he might end reality while trying, in which case I agree entirely.)
